Google Image

Hi everyone!
Your friendly B here with some news...
I've had several people (well two) point out that the google image is a Michelangelo look-a-like type thing. Now I hadn't hit Google yet this morning, but it made perfect sense when I saw it!!

Why would they change the image to a michelangelo look-a-like type thing on today of all days? Well -- I happen to read the History Channel's "What Happened Today" website at http://www.thisdayinhistory.com/. I do this every morning -- it's part of my bookmark list that I open in tabs in phoenix.

So you are too lazy to go read the "This Day in History" website? You want the short story? It's Michelangelo's birthday. Yup -- he was born on March 6th, 1475. Almost as old as certain people that I know!! For those of the younger generation who haven't had a chance to study the fine arts, he was a WAY important Renaissance artist. Probably his most famous work would be the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome...

Now I just need to figure out how to convince Google to change their image to .. I don't know .. a picture of me climbing(?) next year on March 4th!!

Thanks, Google, for pointing out what an important day this is to the arts!

Oh yah -- Google has a page with all their past holiday images -- some are quite fun!!

Is it bad?

So yesterday I grew older. Not by the day-to-day growing up that we do; but because it was the day that I was born so many many years ago.

It was a relatively quiet bday -- just how I like them. I got a couple phone calls from my family (my brother and Mom -- we'll see if my father remembers this year -- he forgot last year). I went home, worked on my bike (I've got that century this weekend, remember??), and Missy came home with balloons!! We ate Macaroni & Cheese along with artichokes -- my staple bday dinner for some umpteen number of years. Went climbing last night (was trying a V4+ and just couldn't get up it) and decided to head home early.

So here is my question to you -- I had to ask Missy how old I was. Seems that every bday past 23 or so hasn't been important. At least not to me. I honestly couldn't remember if I was 26, 27, or 28 (I think it was 27, am I right??). Ah well. Old age is rearing it's ugly head already!

Thanks, Missy, for a relaxing bday and some great surprises! :)

ClimbVertex site 99% done!

Welp -- we are almost 100% complete with the first pass at climbvertex.com. Check it out at http://squeeek.com/climbvertex/ We have a couple more minor tweaks but those will be done shortly!

We've got some great ideas for future items though... An online guide-book to local climbs; rate-the-climb for vertex routes; members pictures section...

Those will be soon to come (I hope!).
A big thanks to Jason for helping with this kewl project -- hopefully he's enjoyed it!
