I received an email from a SPAM source to the tune of 'Start a home business and make a load of money'. This annoyed me greatly because it came to an email addres I have never given out. I chose that particular domain because they said they would never sell my address out. I've had the address for about 5 months and havent received spam; until this morning. I was so annoyed that I sent back a respose. Here it is...
I have had this email address for about 5 months, and have not
provided the email address to anyone accept people that I know
personally. Your email is the first unsolicited message I have
received here. I request, nay,DEMAND that you tell me from what
source you received my email address.
AND Furthermore, Please remove me from this list immediately.
About five minutes after sending it, I recieved this message:
Hi Jason:
That is very strange, because your email address was provided on a
list of people interested in starting a home based business. If you did
not request information, maybe one of your friends was playing a
trick on you and used your email address.
In any case, please accept my apology, and I am removing your name
from my list.
I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused and I hope you have
a great day!
While its annoying that they tried to say a friend played an unforgivable prank, it was so satisfying to receive an actual apology...
Well, the footage from Saturday's climbing competition is great. Lots of good climbs, strong moves, and best of all falls. Now, since this is bouldering, there are no ropes, so when you fall, its potentially bad. But the falls sure are cool.
Anyhow, the editing is going well. Brent and I have about 5 minutes almost done. Need to fill another five. That shouldn't be too hard since I have like an hour more of tape to go through. Anyhow, when its done, I'll be posting it for viewing...
Had a pretty great weekend. Started with some overdue farting around the house on Friday. Then, saturday, I was priveledged to attend the Bouldering Competition at Vertex. That was really cool. Lots of really great climbers. So much to learn. I got some great video footage, and will be putting it together into a cool little video soon. I have to make time for it first. HA!
Sunday was good. We had church. Then a nap. Then some lunch. Then a nap. Then the business meeting. Then a nap. My kind of day I tellya...
Pics from the competition are here and here.
Have a nice day.
I just got an unsolicited email for a product that fights spam.
an bit ironic, dontcha think?
So, we bought the Beauty & the Beast on DVD. Great movie. Except it took so long to get into the stinking box that I was totally disgusted with the movie and didn't want to watch it.
1. Remove the outer shrinkwrap.
2. Remove the 2 pieces of security tape.
3. Remove the actual DVD case from the decorative cardboard sleeve.
4. Remove the shrinkwrap from the inner package.
5. Remove the security tape from 3 places on the inner box.
6. Go make a sandwich.
I wonder if all this is really worth the 62 cents they paid for packaging. After all, the whole thing was encased in a 15 lb. plastic security box before I got it from the store...
sheesh.
Brent found these two sites where you can watch movies performed completely by lego men.
Well, we had the Vertical Call even this morning. At 3:00am. IT was great. Except the sound guy. ITs hard to find a good sound guy. First, there was no signal from the channels that the guitars were plugged into, then somehow we fried a channel with TOO MUCH signal. How that worked I dont know. But it happened. That left Craig without an instrument, so I gave him my guitar (since he has more crucial parts than I), and i stepped down. that was a good thing. I got to sit and worship. OH MAN! I got to just be still for about an hour. It was fantastic.
Afterwards we all went to breakfast (thanks Holly and Rick) at Lita's. It was purported to me that Lita's was better than Sam's. With a cautiosly skeptical tongue, I ordered the corned beef hash (its a really hit or miss type of food, so it gives a good idea of how the rest of the food is). NO WAY IS IT BETTERN THAN SAM'S! YOU ALL ARE CRAZY! CRAZY SAYS I!!! Still good though.
Went to work to find so much time and so little to do...wait...strike that...reverse it...
Lots to do. A lady from work spotted me a few bucks for a veggie #3 at Pho Vietnam. I havent started eating the soup yet, but I just put the fresh basil in the broth, and OH MAN! It smelled up the whole office. I can't wait to eat it...once it cools off (which, in this refrigerator of an office shouldn't be too long).
Ah well. Have a nice day.
Turn yourself into a chicken here...
This has been terribly enlightening for me, and I can now say, with all the surety in the world, that I've done it all.
...when you look at the blinds on the window and find them sooo fascinating.
...when you look at the blinds on the window and find them sooo fascinating.
I know nobody probably cares, but heres the recipe...
1/4 c. shoped onion
1 t. curry
1 T. flour
28 oz. Chicken Broth
1 lb. canned pumpkin
1 t. brown sugar
1/8 t. nutmeg
salt and pepper to taste
1 c. half and half
Saute the onion in olive oil until soft. stir in curry and flour, until fragrant but not burning. Add chicken broth. Add pumpkin, and stir until smooth. Add sugar, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Cook and stir until simmering. Just before serving add the half & half and warm without boiling.
Way too easy.. MUH!
Pictures from the trip are here.
Well, I have never been to the Santa Barbara area. Its nice. I learned about a few towns I had never heard of...Solvang (the Danish Capitol of the West.....?), Beullton, and Lompoc. All about the size of my shoe, but nice nonetheless.
Blow-by-Blow
We got out of here about 2:30 Friday (after Kirk grabbed me into a 2:00 meeting, fully aware of the fact I had to leave), and made it down to King City in a little less than 4 hours...We had some fud there. We got down to San Luis Obispo a little while later. I was wiped, so Brent drove the rest of the way. We made it all the way in abut 6 hours. Good time.
Woke up Saturday morning to a Flat Tire. Fun. Had to buy all new tires because they were just old. What a way to start the day huh? Ah well. But after all was said and done, we had a good long day climbing.
Sunday---We got up late, had some breakfast, and started the drive home. Brent drove the first leg, which ended up being more like a leg and a torso, all the way to San Jose. It was pretty cool, somewhere around Salinas there appeared to be some sort of airshow. And either some plane crashed, OR there were actual bombing runs. I didnt read any news about any planes crashing, so I have to think it was bombing runs. That was cool. When we got up to San Francisco, we decided to go to Mission Cliffs to try climbing there. It was a really COOL gym, but the people...ah the people...ugh.
Thats all I have to say about that.
I flashed a 5.9 last night! YAY!
If you dont know what that means...I completed a climb on the first try that is rated more difficult than anything I have done...
YAY!
